If you have any questions, please email Manager of Volunteer Programs Nathan Bell at volunteer@waltonartscenter.org
Volunteers are a dedicated group of individuals who commit their time, talents and resources to maintaining the arts in our community. At Walton Arts Center we strive to provide the highest quality programming available, and our volunteer program is a vital part of a successful show. In order to provide the best experience for our volunteers, patrons and staff, Walton Arts Center offers different levels of volunteer commitment to fit with your schedule.
Our volunteers provide support to virtually every aspect of our operations with thousands of hours of service each year. Our diverse group of volunteers represents an interesting cross-section of the Northwest Arkansas community. Though they hail from a variety of backgrounds, they all share a love for the arts and their community. At Walton Arts Center our philosophy towards our corps of volunteers is simple: the show could not go on without them!

Training
All volunteers are required to attend an orientation session before making the decision to join the team. The orientation sessions are designed to inform prospective volunteers about policies and procedures, plus details about opportunities. New volunteers are offered a mix of virtual, hands on and mentorship training in order to provide the best possible patron experience. Seasoned volunteers are also required to attend a training session once a year in the summer as a "refresher" course.
During the annual training sessions policies and procedures are reviewed and new programs or policies are also introduced. Training sessions might also have a particular focus, such as safety or customer service. In addition, the training sessions provide an opportunity for volunteers to receive a sneak peek for the upcoming season.
Volunteers also have the option of joining a more flexible volunteer path with our Volunteer Ambassador program. This program is ideal for students that need to fulfill a service requirement, corporate employee volunteers, or individuals with schedule restrictions.
Recognition
Every year Walton Arts Center honors our volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Night. During this special evening, awards are given based upon years of service and number of hours. In addition, Walton Arts Center recognizes volunteers throughout the year with a complimentary ticket program that allows volunteers to work up to receiving tickets to shows that are presented by the Center. Walton Arts Center is always looking for additional ways to recognize our volunteers for their dedication and faithful service.
