Hip-Hop 101

Walton Arts Center has launched Hip-Hop 101, an on-site after-school program that allows students to learn elements of hip-hop dance, music production and stage presence from trained professionals in the field – all at no cost to them.

The teaching artists represent the best of the NWA hip-hop scene, including choreographers and teachers CeCe Marie and Hannah Hoye; songwriter, rapper and music producers Tylo May, SpidaCrazy8 and Cash Harris, DJ Darren DJD. Sewell, and visual artists Shay Holloway and NVEST.

Asbell, Washington and Leverett elementary schools, Owl Creek School, the Fayetteville Boys & Girls Club and Fayetteville ALLPS School of Innovation have all participated in the popular program.

Hip-Hop 101 will end with a live performance on our stage and an originally produced EP album.
