Enjoy an Evening of New Orleans Jazz with Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, Nov. 14, 2022 – Jazz royalty will take center stage when Delfeayo Marsalis, a member of the legendary Marsalis family of musicians, and his Uptown Jazz Orchestra perform at Walton Arts Center on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 pm as part of the 10x10 Arts Series.

Acclaimed trombonist, composer and producer Delfeayo Marsalis has dedicated his prolific career to increasing access to and appreciation of music, theater and education. Marsalis has produced more than 120 recordings and toured with jazz legends Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones and Slide Hampton, while also serving as a bandleader in his own band.

In 2008, he formed the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, a rotating group of highly trained and accomplished musicians, who set the global standard of jazz proficiency and promote a greater appreciation of jazz and its New Orleans-rooted history.

Marsalis formed the Uptown Music Theatre in 2000 as a non-profit organization that empowers youth through educational programming and musical theater training. He has reached more than 5,000 students with his introductory jazz workshops, musicals and original songs.
