East Meets West on Walton Arts Center’s Stage When 6-WIRE Performs for One Night Only

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, April 23, 2019 – Inspired by the historical connection of music and culture, 6-WIRE is bringing their world music ensemble to Walton Arts Center on Thursday, May 9 at 7 pm as part of the 10x10 Arts Series.

Founded and directed by award-winning Chinese-American violinist, composer and producer Xiang Gao, 6-WIRE celebrates diversity in performance, weaves stories and context into their concerts and transforms how live instrumental music is experienced.

6-WIRE performs internationally at world music concerts, new music festivals, university concert series, community concerts and for large TV and outdoor events in hopes of promoting cultural exchange while attracting new audiences with their unique repertoire and sounds from around the world. With solid training and professional experience in styles ranging from western classical to pop, 6-WIRE draws people of all ages to classical and world music concerts.

Walton Arts Center’s 10x10 Arts Series brings a variety of groundbreaking artists and awe-inspiring performances to Northwest Arkansas at a price that allows more people to experience live theater performances.

Patrons attending a 10x10 Arts Series performance are invited to a preshow Creative Conversation with members from 6-WIRE led by a member of Walton Arts Center’s programming staff at 6 pm. Following the show, patrons are also invited to attend a party with the artists in the Walker Atrium and to share their thoughts about the show with the popular Post-It® Note responses.
