Blood Drive
DATE: July 28 & 29, 10am-3pm
LOCATION: Walton Arts Center
REGISTER FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 29
ABOUT:
Walton Arts Center is hosting a two-day Blood Drive! Live entertainment for donors will be provided on both days of the drive. Performers will be in the Pace Balcony Lobby (see schedule below), and blood donations will be in Walker Atrium in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
“While we aren’t presenting shows, this is a very tangible way for us to support local musicians, thank the blood donors and help fill a very important need in our community at a time when blood is in such demand,” said Jennifer Ross, director of programming at Walton Arts Center.
In order to allow time to set up, break down and sanitize between performers, there will be screenings of recorded performances from VoiceJam and the Artosphere Festival Orchestra.
Tuesday entertainment schedule:
- 10:30am-noon: Miho Sakon (violin) & Tomoko Kashiwagi (keyboard)
- 1pm-2:30pm: Beth Stockdell (harp)
Wednesday entertainment schedule:
- 10:30am-noon: Christian Serrano (cello)
- 1pm-2:30pm: Candy Lee (solo, vocals/guitar, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE:
- All donations will be screened for COVID antibodies. The American Red Cross is now testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies, which can provide donors insight into whether they may have been exposed to this coronavirus, regardless of whether they developed symptoms. Donors can expect to receive the results of their antibody test within seven to 10 days through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or on the donor portal at redcrossblood.org.
- In addition to the standard safety protocols followed by Red Cross staff during blood drives, there will be donor temperature checks before entering and everyone will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout donation appointments and all surfaces will be sanitized using enhanced disinfecting practices.
