Leon Bridges Returns to Northwest Arkansas

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS, November 12, 2018 – Bringing his special mix of pop, R&B and jazz, Leon Bridges will perform at the Walmart AMP on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 as part of the Cox Concert Series. Gates open at 6 pm and the performance starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 16 at 10 am.

Ticket prices for Bridges’ Good Thing Tour with Jess Glynne range from $35 to $69.50 plus applicable fees and can be purchased by calling 479.443.5600 or by visiting www.amptickets.com. In-person purchases can be made at the Walmart AMP Box Office in Rogers from 10 am until 6 pm on Nov. 16 or at the Walton Arts Center Box Office in Fayetteville Monday through Friday, 10 am until 2 pm and Saturday, noon until 4 pm.

In 2015, Bridges’ first album, Coming Home, surprised the music industry by debuting at number five on the Billboard Top 200. Only months prior, he had been playing sparsely attended open mics in Dallas-Fort Worth after he finished his dishwashing job at a local restaurant.

In a span of three years, Coming Home took Bridges to the White House to perform for former President Obama, the stage of Saturday Night Live and earned him nominations for two GrammyÒ Awards including Best R&B Album. The debut album has gone on to sell over 500,000 records (certified RIAA Gold) and has been streamed 350 million times.

Good Thing marks the beginning of another transition for Leon Bridges. If Coming Home anointed him the R&B underdog whose sound was reminiscent of days past, Good Thing is an album firmly rooted in the modern world, with nods to R&B’s storied and varied history.

“We wanted to find a way to bring the old sound in a way but evolve it,” Bridges explains.

The Walmart AMP (Arkansas Music Pavilion), a Walton Arts Center venue since February 2011, is Arkansas’ premier outdoor concert venue. The Walmart AMP has presented headlining concerts for the past 14 years. In its permanent home in Pinnacle Hills at 5079 W. Northgate Rd., Rogers, Ark., the Walmart AMP has the largest outdoor stage house in Arkansas.
