Following the success of the award-winning film, Take Me to the River and its subsequent live tour, this historic show has been reimagined to showcase the musical foundation of another American city – New Orleans.
The deep, gritty grooves of Dumpstaphunk’s Ian and Ivan Neville combine with the slick bass lines of George Porter Jr., set to the driving beat of Terrence Higgins on drums and the jubilant, penetrating sound of The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Big Chief Monk Boudreaux – a gifted folk artist, dynamic musician and vital figure to the New Orleans African American culture – joins them on stage, alongside the Grammy Award®-winning roots Cajun music group, the Lost Bayou Ramblers Duo and the once-rival 79rs Gang to produce what can only be described as “musical gumbo.”
