More about The Moon Project:

This cosmically adventurous work features a deep exploration into the private motivations of the astronauts, and their personal challenges and sacrifices endured before, during and after the landing event. Surrounding their stories will be a narrative of the political landscape of the time, including the clashing economic and social priorities of American society in the late 1960s, the rise of the black arts movement and the collision of events that formulated the space race. The script merges pieces of sourced historical text, including political speeches, sermons, conversations, letters, phone calls, the lunar landing radio transcript and song lyrics from the time. The work explores how connections and divisions between people and communities can shape who we are, who we become and how are remembered. The Moon Project will premiere in 2020.
