Shalisa Sloan James

Award-winning arranger and live and studio performer, Shalisa's voice can be heard on over 500 jingles around the globe. She co-created Toxic Audio (now Vox Audio), which won the Drama Desk for its NYC Off-Broadway show. Shalisa voiced Tessa on the Emmy award-winning PBS show, The “Reppies”. Winner of the CARA a cappella award for “Favorite Female Vocalist”, Shalisa and her husband Jeremy own Entertainment Central Productions, the nation's leading producers of vocal shows for corporate events and theme parks. Shalisa is the vocal director for all live shows at Universal Studios Orlando and The Frog Choir at Universal Studios Hollywood.

 
 

Troy Dolendo

Hailing from the beaches of southern California, Troy is so excited to be back as a part of Voice Jam 2017! After studying under Bobby McFerrin’s arranger, Roger Treece at UW, Troy’s a cappella career took off. His singing, vocal percussion and arranging took him around the globe landing him in Orlando where he co-founded Mosaic and The Edge Effect. His production and music direction credits include Disney Event Group, Universal Music Group (US & Japan), Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruise lines and others. His groups have taken him all over Europe, South America, The Caribbean, as well as the red carpet at The Grammys and The Academy Awards. He has shared the stage and performed with Prince, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennet, India Arie, Mervyn Warren and others. He is uber proud to have arranged for and worked with groups like The Swingle Singers, Pentatonix, M-Pact, The HouseJacks and many others. Troy hopes everyone here at Voice Jam has an amazing time and that they cherish every single moment! He thanks his beautiful family for the love and support!

 

Nick Girard

In 2006, Nick founded Overboard, a professional a cappella group in Boston, MA. After a series of award-winning productions, he joined NBC’s The Sing-Off as the lead producer/engineer/arranger for the contestant compilation The Sing-Off: Songs of the Season, working with The Sing-Off Champions Pentatonix, Committed, and many other groups. Nick continued his work on The Sing-Off as a vocal coach, arranger and audio engineer during Season 4, working closely with the production team and celebrity judges to prepare the contestants each week for filming. In 2011, Nick joined the ranks of The House Jacks as a tenor and beatboxer, touring the world alongside Deke Sharon, House Jacks founder and vocal producer for In Transit, The Sing-off and blockbuster hits Pitch Perfect & Pitch Perfect 2. In 2014, he produced the most recent House Jacks album Pollen. A world-class clinician and competition adjudicator, he can be found running workshops for a cappella groups and pop choruses on everything from technique and arranging to group dynamics and vocal percussion.

 

Rene Ruiz

Originally from Austin, TX, Rene Ruiz spent 15 years in Orlando, Florida as a featured performer and show director for the Walt Disney World Co. As a director, he conceived and created the Off-Broadway a cappella concept show Toxic Audio which won the 2004 New York Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience”. The group was the 2000 Harmony Sweepstakes Champions and to date has released four albums. Their album titled Chemistry won the CARA for Album of the Year. He has since directed acappella shows for Hersheypark, Six Flags over New England, Kennywood and serves as a vocal director for Entertainment Central which provides the Harry Potter Frog Choir and Grinchmas shows at Universal Studios Hollywood. He is also an established voiceover actor and audiobook narrator. He now resides in Los Angeles and continues to coach musical theatre performers and a cappella groups nationwide.
