As part of Fayetteville Public Library’s Summer Concert Series, Aaron Smith will be sharing songs from his acclaimed album The Legend of Sam Davis alongside Kelly and Donna Mulhollan of Still on the Hill and a full band.

The Legend of Sam Davis explores stories from Newton County, Arkansas, including a heroic midwife, the mysterious appearance of “The Snow Child,” a Cherokee family’s harrowing escape from the Trail of Tears that culminates in the story of Sam Davis, the raving preacher for whom Sam’s Throne was named.

The Legend of Sam Davis and other Stories of Newton County, Arkansas, the stunning new album and book by Aaron Smith and the Coal Biters, transcends the boundaries of a mere collection, encompassing songs that pulsate with veracity, stories that evoke passion, breathtaking artwork, mesmerizing maps and cherished family photos.
