“That [Latin] flavor is mostly in everything I do; it’s a part of me,” (Chick Corea, 2019). When Jazz at Lincoln Center hosted a week-long Chick Corea Festival in 2013, Corea hand-picked the musicians he wanted to see and hear, and Cuban pianist Elio Villafranca was one of them. This band features an international and intergenerational lineup of acclaimed jazz artists selected by the inspired and visionary Villafranca to dive into Corea’s music from an Afro-Caribbean-meets-jazz perspective.
