ABOUT:

The raga system is the foundation of all Indian music, and this performance will highlight typical musical styles from all four corners of India. Carnatic music from the south is a genre all by itself while the abhangs from the west are a style of singing unique to their region. Similarly, the hindustani genre of music of the north and the folk tones of the east are all tied together by the seven notes of music.

Experience a variety of these styles from singer and musical coordinator Vijayashri Vittal, who will be supported by Kartik Balachander on strings, and Carson Vandush and Santhosh Ramaswamy on percussion.
