Artosphere Festival Orchestra

Now in its seventh year, the Artosphere Festival Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Corrado Rovaris has been recognized as an important new voice in the classical music world by American Public Media’s Performance Today, the nation’s most popular classical music radio program. This orchestra composed of musicians from distinguished symphonies and music programs around the world will gather for the annual festival celebrating the convergence of arts, music and sustainability.

AFO musicians will also perform pop-up mini concerts, participate in the popular outdoor performances and perform in traditional chamber music concerts throughout the region.

Festival Orchestra Dates: May 9-21

Travel dates: May 9th, May 14, and May 17, 2017 will be arrival dates based on programming needs. All musicians will depart on May 21,2017.

Compensation: Each musician will receive a stipend for participating in the Artosphere Festival Orchestra. Compensation will be computed for each individual residency based instrumentation needs only. Section Principals and Concertmaster will receive additional bonus compensation
Additionally each participant will receive a meal stipend (Prepaid credit card to be provided)

Venue: Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Travel: Travel to and from Northwest Arkansas is the responsibility of each participating musician.
Additional cartage is available for bass, cello, tuba, and harp, and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Lodging and meals: Lodging to be provided by the Festival at The Chancellor Hotel.

Orchestra Concert Dress: Black suits with black shirts for men, no tie required. Black dresses or Black slacks with black blouses with long sleeves for women. No short skirts, no sleeveless dresses.

Musicians selected to play in the Artosphere Festival Orchestra may also participate in the Artosphere Chamber Music series, as well as outreach programs.
